Multi-Equipment Station for High-Speed Rail Hub

A mixed deployment of coffee, ice cream, and food service robots serving 200,000+ daily passengers.

🚆

Overview

A high-speed rail station handling over 200,000 passengers daily deployed a mixed fleet of self-service robots to replace traditional concession stands. The project required equipment that could operate continuously from 5 AM to midnight, handle peak-hour surges, and accommodate diverse passenger preferences from breakfast to late-night snacks.

Details

Twelve robots were installed across the station’s main concourse and waiting areas: four coffee robots, four ice cream robots, and four food service robots. The open layout design allowed passengers to access multiple robot types from a single queue area, reducing congestion. Contactless payment acceptance (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, Alipay, WeChat Pay, NFC) covered over 95% of passenger payment preferences. Each robot was equipped with real-time inventory monitoring that automatically alerted the station’s service team when supplies were low. The food service robots offered hot meals, bento boxes, and snacks with automated heating and dispensing. After six months of operation, the station reported consistent performance across all units, with the ice cream robots being the top performers during summer months.
